“ Every piece of jewellery tells a story, and the choice of materials plays a pivotal role in weaving that narrative. Gemstones or pearls, adorned by their natural beauty, carry with them a rich history and inherent symbolism. Each one of them possesses its unique characteristics and allure, captivating both ~ the jeweller and the wearer. “

My name is Tereza, and I am a self-taught goldsmith. I've always had a deep passion for beauty in all its forms, whether created by nature or man. Always been curious about light, shapes and crafts These have nourished my soul since the beginning of my life's journey.

Terra Artefact was born from my inner desire to create something long-lasting and ornamental in these days of acceleration and disposability. All jewellery (except chains) is slowly crafted by my hands in my tiny home studio based alongside The Seven Sisters Cliffs. I use ancient traditional techniques to create unique talismans for your ordinary and extraordinary life moments. I am the head, hands and heart of Terra Artefact.

Despite having no formal training, I have spent countless hours honing my craft. It is a journey of self-discovery and constant learning, pushing the boundaries... Each piece I create is a labour of Love. Drawing inspiration from nature, history and the world around us, I strive to infuse each creation with character and timeless allure.

And so it is, that I present you with these dainty little trinkets of Gold and Argentium Silver! I hope that you will like them, wear them and cherish them as much as I do. I am also delighted to welcome you here and to thank you. Firstly, for becoming an ally in this quest to bring someone else's dream to life, and secondly, for supporting a small local business.

Terra

Terra, as one of the most ancient goddesses of the Roman religion and mythology. Perceived as a personification of the Earth itself, representing strength, stability, and growth.

Terra, as one of the four classical elements along with air (Ventus), water (Aqua), and fire (Ignis).

And finally Terra as the Greek origin and basis of my name, Tereza.

Artefact

Means, primarily, an ornament, a work of art, tool, or other object shaped by human workmanship of cultural or historical interest.

Artefacts exist as a result of transformational processes in many different forms.

Comes from Latin Arte "by skill" and Factum "act of doing", also influenced by Facere "act of creating”.

Ouroboros

The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent eating its own tail, often interpreted as a symbol of eternal cyclical renewal or a cycle of life, death and rebirth, as well as a meaning of infinity or wholeness. The Ouroboros expresses the unity of all things, material and spiritual, which never disappear but perpetually change form in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation.

The symbol persisted from Egyptian to Roman times (but can be seen in many other ancient cultures around the world), when it frequently appeared on magical talismans.

The uncanny resemblance of the ring shape (as an eternal circle) to the Ouroboros itself (and its symbolism) should be mentioned as well.
